I REALLY want to buy it, but alas, I need to eat, and do I want to only dig it out once a year and listen to it for a month? Tori deserves to be played YEAR ROUND. So online I am listening to it. Oh, Tori. I love it, because it's not your mama's Christmas music here, people. I mean, it's traditional Christmas songs and all that, but with a delightful Tori twist. Her voice is EPIC. This will be the kind of Christmas music my children listen to. It was funny, over Thanksgiving, my brother was like "Mikey, who are the Beatles?" to my nephew and he knew all of them. "John, George, Paul, Ringo!" I was all "he's going to know that before he knows his ABCs!" It was fun decorating the tree with him. Even if the tree did fall the hell over once we got it up IN THE STAND, ornaments & all, like it does every year. Nobody was hurt, but since it's a real tree, there were needles everywhere. I always like seeing my ornaments and stuff with my name on them, I'm cheesy, and cute ornaments that my aunts have gotten me over the years. We have this like, glittery ball with the names of plays on it (Rent, the Lion King, Wicked, etc) and that's one of my favorites. And this year, instead of sending my dad and sisters and brother a boring list, if I see something I want, I take a picture of it with my cell phone & send it to them. Because nine times out of ten, they wind up getting me a DVD/CD that I already have. I'm pretty predictable. I know what I want. A gift card so I can buy food, a gift card so I can buy coffee. I'm a big fan of surprises, too! :) I ♥ Christmas because I'm so good all year, um okay, I try to be(with not buying stuff that I don't really need, fannish-wise!) and then it's like "YAY, SHINY STUFF!" cmnt.

five years. [28 Nov 2009|11:57am] comeoncloser [ mood | motivated ] [ music | feeling the pull, the swell season ] I've had my journal for five years today! Er, not today, but on Thanksgiving. Over 1,000 entries, life transitions, joy and pain later, I'm still here. And so are you guys. Thank you. ♥ I invite you to, if you read my journal occasionally, but I'm not a part of your flist, to friend me. I'll do the same. I don't bite. Hard enough to leave marks, anyway. ;) Back to work today! We decorated the house and got the Christmas tree yesterday. The day after Thanksgiving? What? Family, thy name is oddness. It was kind of fun, though. We're making a little room for my nephew so when he sleeps over, he can have his own space. Getting him a little bed & everything. We have a baptism for my friend's baby today and that will probably take, like, an hour and then it's off to work for me! Thanksgiving was delicious. We saw The Blind Side last night. I'd seen too many previews for it, but it was okay. Sandra Bullock is LOVE. She kicks so much ass in whatever she does. And that Quinton Aaron kid is a cutie. Call me! The power went off for like, an hour last night in our house. Random. I should probably get dressed & stuff. I'll probably make another entry tonight that says something like... "Saturday. At work. Must. Keel. Over. And. Pass. Out." My sisters got up at like, six to go Black Friday shopping yesterday. They didn't get many things but COME ON. How are we related? I mean, I like Target, y'all, but not at six a.m. I like Target, but I LOVE my sleep. cmnt.

[25 Nov 2009|04:17pm] comeoncloser [ music | metric, hardwire ] I was reading Taylor(Taylor Lautner, in my LJ, he will heretofore be referenced as "Taylor" because we're down like that)'s Rolling Stone article today. HE IS SO CUTE, and he seems very down-to-earth and sweet. *swoons* And he and Taylor Swift are going to be in a movie together. Yay. I love her so much. I call them TaySquared because not only are they both adorable in their own right, together, they would be ON FIRE. And he's hosting SNL in December. Aww. That's like, a big freakin' deal. I would be nervous as hell. Poor woobie. I hope they don't pick on him too much. MAKE HIM TAKE OFF HIS SHIRT! I mean, let me make you cookies. Dammit, I'm all conflicted. Because, like, God did not just hand him that body and say "you're welcome", right? He had to work out like a FIEND. He was talking in the article about kickboxing and martial arts and it's just fascinating, the discipline he has at such a young age. I DO NOT KNOW why girls go all cuckoo for Robert Pattison, really. Taylor is where it's at. I melt every time Bella refers to him as "Jake" because nicknames are cute. And it means she loves him! I also have off of work for the next three days. HOORAY! Logically, I could have worked today and had off tomorrow and Friday, but whatever. I am glad to be out of the seventh circle of hell that is working in the grocery business this year. I kind of felt bad about taking off because we weren't going away this year and I'd totally be available to work. I may have to work Christmas Eve, though. At least until we close at six. And New Year's, but I don't mind working New Year's. My family, however, does not seem to understand that I cannot take off Christmas AND Thanksgiving. PICK YOUR BATTLES, FAMILY. It kind of snuck up on me this year because I don't have the feeling of wanting to hide in my room under my blankies with my teddy bear and never come out, for the first time, in like FOREVER. I just don't like the feeling of having to be "on" all the time. It frustrates me. cmnt.
